On the road again!

It’s a beautiful day outside; a welcome break from the overcast, rainy days we’ve been having here in south-central PA for a couple weeks.  It’s cool and fairly windy (which will make the travel a bit more tiring).  The weather in the areas I’ll be traveling over the next few days looks like a mixed bag, but that’s all part of the journey!  My gear is packed and I’ve made sure everything is in good working order.  Today will be my longest push, roughly 8 hours, so I can get to where I want to be tonight so I can arrive in Gatling tomorrow for lunch and a little time walking the streets before heading across the mountains to Cherokee.  This trip will not be as spontaneous as I would typically like because I’m really wanting to get the Tail of the Dragon and the Cherohala Skyway (two of the best motorcycle roads east of the Mississippi — and I’m hoping the weather cooperates enough to let me do both; in the same day!)  Motorcycle trips are still bittersweet to me.  They are a challenge, for sure.  I love travel, dare I say, I NEED travel; it’s that much a part of my DNA. But I also like the comfort of being around my family.  We have our moments when we get on each other’s nerves, but when I’m away from them, it doesn’t take long until I find myself wishing weren’t apart. Enough rambling.  God, thanks for the beautiful day, the blessing of being able to own and ride a motorcycle, and the sensory overload that motorcycle travel brings. Help me keep the shiny side up, the rubber down, and all of me visible to others on the road! Craig
