I’m not really a morning person, so unless I have to be somewhere pressing, I like to take my time. This morning is one such morning. After an ok night’s sleep (the bed was a little harder than I first realized) I coaxed hot water out of my low pressure shower, washed, dressed, and walked next door to the Lafayette Restaurant. Yep, the locals must like this place; it’s not packed with people, but it’s nearly full ( and I’m here at 9:00 AM). Lots of older people; I trust they know decent breakfast cooking. The tv on the refrigerator across the room has FOX News on; who will take Boehner’s place? Who cares?; I’m here, eating great tasting sweet cream filled pancakes before I head out on this nice fall day! Breakfast $12.48 with tip. Packing up my stuff I’m not sure where I will end up tonight. I’m close enough to home that I could make the drive and get in before it gets dark outside. But at the same time I’m really enjoying having a little bit of time away to myself. Trips like this always seem to result in me being able to rediscover parts of myself that get increasingly lost in the daily routine. However, I’m also trying to save money, too, because I really want to get a sidecar for The X (my motorcycle) so I can do future trips with another family member or with our dog! It does tend to get lonely on the road when traveling alone; it’s nice to share the experiences.
